Iceland’s first Social Progress Portrait helps a small community thrive

Today, Iceland’s 2nd largest town Kópavogur became the first to develop a Social Progress Portrait–a new type of assessment for smaller communities to examine what life is truly like & where to improve. Congrats to the town’s leaders & Cognitio Iceland for taking the first step toward helping the resident’s thrive and in the process achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

“The Social Progress Portrait will make the city council and our administration more responsive to the need of the inhabitants of Kópavogur by placing greater emphasis on benefits, outcome and results rather than simply service efforts and workload.”

[Ármann Kr. Ólafsson, Mayor of Kópavogur]
